Mezzanine Finance
A mezzanine financing is traditionally used in buy-out situations where a company is taken over by internal or external managers. Mezzanine financing also becomes more important in expansion financings, such as opening up new markets or develop new products. Depending on the design of the mezzanine financing, it can be seen as equity (mezzanine equity) or borrowed capital (dept mezzanine).
Mezzanine investors are usually private equity companies or banks. A private placement is possible as well as the participation of employees in the company. The design possibilities are very flexible, since only a few law regulations apply. This allows the interests of the company as well as the investor's interests to be considered.
